Orchha Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1994 is located on an island in the Betwa River around 25 km long and 15 km wide. Some of the animals found here include the Blue Bull (Nilgai), monkeys, Wild pig, Jackal, Sloth Bear and many others. There are also almost 200 species of birds including kingfisher, woodpecker, owls, jungle bush quail and black swan.

The park is also scattered with look-out towers, ruins, shrines and other buildings. A network of well marked and well maintained paths guides you to the various points of interest.

The Orchha Wildlife Sanctuary is located at the southern end of Orchha town, just over the bridge. The sanctuary is sometimes closed during the monsoon season when the Betwa River can become flooded.
